Stories are how we come to understand ourselves and the world around us. For American Indians stories are medicine. In relation to Kindfulness, storytelling involves being present with ourselves and our audience, speaking from our heart. We practice both Kindful speaking and Kindful listening within a story circle or group, as well as improvisational intuitional games. In a Kindfulness setting, storytelling helps people connect with our own intuition. Speaking truth helps separate our conditioning from our intuitive wisdom.
